Our Pro Pundit: These are the top 3 picks from each club

When building our teams we always look for players that offer value for money. In this article we will see which 3 players from each club we should consider for out teams.

Arsenal

  1. Saka (£10.0m midfielder) – Starts every game when fit, has been improving season after season and has been very consistent scoring 200+ points in the last two seasons.
  2. Havertz (£8.0m forward) – Ever since he started playing as a striker in January 2024, he has been one of the top scoring players in the game. £8m for a player capable of breaking the 200 pts mark is a bargain.
  3. Raya (£5.5m goalkeeper) – Cheapest route to the best defense in the league. Also there’s no worry about rotation.

Aston Villa

  1. Watkins (£9.0m forward) – Top scoring forward in the game last season. Expect a regression, but could still provide good value at his price.
  2. Bailey (£6.5m midfielder) – With Diaby leaving the club, we could assume Bailey is a sure starter on the right. Had 21 returns in just 2063 minutes last season.
  3. Maatsen (£5.0m defender) – We know Unai Emery likes one of his full backs to bomb forward. We assume Maatsen was bought to be 1st choice left back and if that’s the case, he could provide great value for money at his price. Also capable of playing further forward as part of a front three, which makes him even more appealing.

Bournemouth

  1. Solanke (£7.5m forward) – Had a breakthrough year last season scoring 19 goals. Could see him continuing his form this season. Helps that he is on pens as well.
  2. Senesi (£5.0m defender) – Nobody is paying this much for a Bournemouth defender, but he is probably worth it. 9 g/a last season in 2239 minutes.
  3. Neto (£4.5m goalkeeper) – Decent rotational option if you go with two £4.5m goalkeepers.

Brentford

  1. Toney (£7.5m forward) – Their best player. If he stays at Brentford, he should provide good value at his price.
  2. Mbeumo (£7.0m midfielder) – Was very good last season, expect the same this season as well. If Toney moves, Mbeumo gets the pens, which would make him an even better pick.
  3. Flekken (£4.5m goalkeeper) – One of the better £4.5m goalkeepers in the game.

Brighton

  1. Mitoma (£6.5m midfielder) – Popular pick last season before his injury. If he is back to his best, we will see him in a lot of teams.
  2. Joao Pedro (£5.5m forward) – Cheap price for a forward who is on pens and plays for one of the better attacking teams in the league. We could see some rotation with him, but could be the enabler we are looking for if we want to fit Haaland and Salah in out teams.
  3. Dunk (£4.5m defender) – Always reliable. Offers some goal threat as well. Decent pick at his price.

Chelsea

  1. Palmer (£10.5m midfielder) Top scoring player in the game last season, great pick even at that price. On pens.
  2. Nkunku (£6.5m midfielder) – Missed most of last season with injury and because of that his price went down. Also he’s been reclassified as a midfielder, he will get one more point for each goal he scores and one point for each clean sheet.
  3. James (£5.0m defender) – FPL royalty when fit. If he manages to stay healthy, he is a no-brainer.

Crystal Palace

  1. Eze (£7.0m midfielder) – Should be on most set-pieces now that Olise has left the club. Also on pens. Great pick at his price.
  2. Mateta (£7.5m forward) – Reborn after the arrival of Glasner, if he continues his form from the end of last season, £7.5m would look cheap.
  3. Munoz (£5.0m defender) – Very attacking wing back playing for a solid defensive side.

Everton

  1. Pickford (£5.0m goalkeeper) – Scored 153 points last season. If he gets anything close to that, he justifies his price.
  2. Tarkowski (£5.0m defender) – Defender that offers goal threat playing for a solid defensive side, decent pick.
  3. Mykolenko (£4.5m defender) – Cheaper alternative route to the Everton defense.

Fulham

  1. Muniz (£6.0m forward) – Phenomenal 2nd half of last season, another player that could act as an enabler for Haaland and Salah. Decent fixtures at the start of the season as well.
  2. Andreas (£5.5m midfielder) – Decent player that would tick along nicely over the season, on pens.
  3. Robinson (£4.5m defender) – Decent attacking potential for his price.

Ipswich

  1. Hutchinson (£5.5m midfielder) – 15 g/a last season in the Championship.
  2. Davis (£4.5m defender) – 2 goals and 18 assists last season in the Championship, absolutely ridiculous numbers for a left back.
  3. Delap (£5.5m forward) – Bought from Man City this summer, we assume he would be their first choice striker.

Leicester

  1. Mavididi (£5.5m midfielder) – 18 g/a last season in the Championship, could provide decent value at his price.
  2. Ricardo (£4.5m defender) – Attacking right back capable of getting returns on both ends.
  3. Faes (£4.0m defender) – One of the few £4.0m defenders in the game that should start for their clubs.

Liverpool

  1. Salah (£12.5m midfielder) – No words needed, one of the FPL goats, on pens and great opening fixtures.
  2. Alexander-Arnold (£7.0m defender) – If he gets back to his best, he would make a mockery out of his price.
  3. Van Dijk (£6.0m defender) – Cheaper route to a Liverpool defense, offers goal threat on set pieces.

Manchester City

  1. Haaland (£15.0m forward) – Absolute goal machine, 63 goals in 66 appearances in the Premier League, standout captain in GW2 against Ipswich.
  2. Foden (£9.5m midfielder) – Coming on the back of a 230 pts season, his price looks cheap. Potential rotation worry as always with Pep though.
  3. Gvardiol (£6.0m defender) – Strong finish last season, expect that form to continue. Best pick if you want to cover the City defense.

Manchester United

  1. Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m midfielder) – Everything goes through him, most chances created last season in the Premier League, on pens as well.
  2. Garnacho (£6.5m midfielder) – Looks like he has forced his way into the first XI, 14g/a last season, potential to hit around 20g/a this season.
  3. Onana (£5.0m goalkeeper) – One of the best goalkeepers at that price, makes a lot of saves, if they keep a couple of more clean sheets, he could get to around 150 pts.

Newcastle

  1. Isak (£8.5m forward) – When he is fit, it’s hard not to own him, always delivers. Captain material vs Southampton in GW1.
  2. Gordon (£7.5m midfielder) – 27 g/a last season, expect him to hit those numbers again. Great pick at that price.
  3. Trippier (£6.0m defender) – On most set pieces, if Newcastle tighten up a bit defensively, he would be a must have.

Nottingham Forest

  1. Hudson-Odoi (£5.5m midfielder) – Had a decent finish last season, expect his good performances to continue. Solid pick at his price.
  2. Gibbs-White (£6.5m midfielder) – One of their better players, on set pieces.
  3. Wood (£6.0m forward) – 14 goals in 1801 minutes last season. When he plays, he always gets goals. Awoniyi being out for the start of the season with injury means Wood definitely starts the season and the fixtures are great.

Southampton

  1. Armstrong (£5.5m forward) – One of the few decent forwards at that price that could act as enablers for the premium players. 24 goals and 13 assists last season in the Championship.
  2. Harwood-Bellis (£4.0m defender) – One of the few starting defenders at that price.
  3. Bazunu (£4.5m goalkeeper) – Could use him in rotation with another GK at that price.

Tottenham

  1. Son (£10.0m midfielder) – 200+ points in 3 of the last 4 seasons, playing in an attacking Tottenham team and on pens. Solid pick.
  2. Pedro Porro (£5.5m defender) – 11 g/a last season. If they can get few more clean sheets, at that price Porro would be a bargain.
  3. Maddison (£7.5m midfielder) – Before his injury last season he was great, lost his form after that. With full pre-season under his belt he could be back to his best.

West Ham

  1. Bowen (£7.5m midfielder) – He is West Ham’s main goal threat. 16 goals and 6 assists last season, should hit similar numbers again.
  2. Kudus (£6.5m midfielder) – Cheaper alternative to cover the West Ham attack, got 17 g/a last season in 2485 minutes.
  3. Kilman (£4.5m defender) – Good rotational option at that price.

Wolves

  1. Cunha (£6.5m forward) – 19 g/a last season in 2438 minutes. Solid pick at his price.
  2. Hee-Chan (£6.5m midfielder) – Carries the goalscoring burden alongside Cunha, better pick than Pedro Neto because he offers more goal threat, Neto is more of a creator.
  3. Ait-Nouri (£4.5m defender) – Very attacking left back that is capable of playing further forward in a front 3. When the fixtures get better he would be a great pick.

Hopefully you will find this helpful when making your drafts.
